University Of Chicago  - Support group for families with children that are deaf/HOH

Meetings are held the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10-12.  They meet in the Center for Advanced Medicine – 5758 S. Maryland Ave, Room 1402

Parking is free in the garage, light breakfast refreshments

We have a large parking lot which is free and we basically take over the waiting room which is what you walk into as you come into the facility.  So it is really easy to find us. J  Siblings, other family members are welcome.  We have volunteers who play/do crafts with the kids and make sure they are in a safe environment while the parents are meeting.  We have snacks and drinks for all.

Parent-Infant Institute

June 7-12 2009

The Institute is a free, one-week program in June for parents of children (up to age five) who have a significant hearing loss. While on the campus of the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, parents attend daily classes and learn about hearing loss, their child’s individual strengths and needs and have the opportunity to meet other parents.
